Warrants have been issued for a 44-year-old male who defrauded four local banks using the same fake coin scam.
Terrelle TALBOT, age 44, of address unknown, is wanted in Durham Region for Fraud Under $5,000 and Utter Metal Resembling Coin in connection with four separate incidents last year. A photo of the accused is attached.
On Friday, December 20, 2019, the accused attended a TD Bank in Ajax and exchanged 20 paper rolls of $2 coins for cash. A short time later, metal washers were located inside the rolls, with $2 coins facing out at each end. Similar scams were run at a BMO bank in Whitby on June 29, 2019; a TD bank in Oshawa on May 13, 2019; and at a different TD branch in Oshawa on March 22, 2019.
The accused is currently wanted on 22 outstanding arrest warrants throughout Canada (BC, AB, SK, MB, ON, QC, NS) with the most recent incident occurring in Toronto on January 17, 2020.
Investigators encourage the accused to contact a lawyer and turn himself in.
